Green has been my favorite color ever since I can remember. It’s such a peaceful color, yet so full of life, almost wild. But in the past couple of months, the color yellow has been slowly infiltrating my life, in the flowers I bought weeks ago that refuse to die, in the cover of a book a dear friend gave me, tissue boxes, fruit, my husband’s hair.
It’s been manifesting in the smallest ways, but Spring, Light, and Life have finally blossomed in my heart again.
This photoshoot happened on a whim, but it has been a creative idea that’s been building in my head. I hope to continue experimenting with it.
This shoot was inspired by the sainthood that I attribute to my female friends, the integrity of the circle, and life of the color yellow.
“Open up your arms and welcome in the warmth and color. Life is so many shades and so many different points of view. How beautiful it is that we aren’t just one thing, we aren’t just one color. We are changing our minds and welcoming different things in and leaving others behind. Spring is a symbol of this. It is new life and change and blossoms of color. As the season changes so do our hearts. We feel every color, every breeze, every new light. It breaks us and warms us. The light shines bright on things we’d forgotten and it allows us to heal. The light changes the color of our skin and our hair and our mood. As spring comes and everything blooms, let the light in. As you break and heal and change your mind, let the light in. “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not overcome it.” – Elizabeth Endara
