So this is the first wedding I’ve done where I was the primary photographer! Adam, my husband, was my second shooter. And he was fantastic. But I couldn’t have imagined a better couple to capture for my first wedding than Thomas & Johanna.

I first met them at Berry College in Rome, GA. They were both incredibly kind and fantastic at climbing.
I’ve kept up with them over the years and have been able to see their love and respect for all life. They are both Vegans and are socially conscious in every thing that they do. When they asked me to do their wedding I was SO excited. They are the exact kind of client I want to capture.

Thomas and Johanna had the most beautiful destination wedding in Red River Gorge, Kentucky. This is a regular spot that they visit to climb. They rented a gorgeous cabin in the mountains and a room for every guest.

Somehow they only had 19 people there! INCLUDING Adam and I. That’s an amazing feat. This created space for an intimate and personal environment that Thomas & Johanna thrived in. We were all able to enjoy time together and enjoy the beauty around us. There was virtually no stress at all involved in the day. I wish more weddings were like this one!

Anyway, I had the most amazing time shooting them. Here are just a few of my favorite photos from the day.

This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls. – John Muir
